This Wednesday I attended a film screening event organized by Emory University. On this event, I got the chance to watch the classic black comedy "To be or Not To be". I had heard about this film before but never got a chance to see the whole film, so this was my first time to watch this film from the Second World War.

This film is about the story of a troupe of actors in Poland. They are acting to prevent a spy delivering crucial information about Poland to German. Finally, they successfully fooled Nazi and escaped from Poland. Although this is a film from seventy five years ago, its laughing points are not out-dated even in today's perspectives. During the screening, there were much laughter and clapping about some amusing plots. The dialogues between characters were designed deliberately, and the music is also matching the plot perfectly. One plot impressed me is that when the male actor found out he was exposed from Nazi, the music vividly revealed his mental activity. Also, this film makes fun of Hitler. The actor who acting Hitler showed at the beginning of the film specifically explained the background of this film and attracted audiences' attention. Although he did not have much scene, he is the essential figure to develop the film. At the end of the film, he disguised himself as the real Hitler, successfully fooling Nazi and helping the whole troupe to escape.

I think the screening experience was enjoyable. The organizer responsibly gave an introduction to this film at the beginning, and organized a discussion at the end. Therefore, I am very looking forward to next screening event!
