Midterm Reflection

Actually, before taking this class, I have no idea what digital media culture is. I can just think about something that is related to high or advanced technology, or something about programming which I never know how to deal with. However, since now I have taken half term of this class, I already have some understanding about this topic. I found out that digital media culture is not that sophisticated and complex as I supposed. It also involves many conceptual ideas and professional material in the area, which are accessible for me to focus on. I think digital media culture is related to our everyday lives. Many things which are easy to ignore in our lives, like using smartphones or surfing the Internet are connected to digital media culture. At this semester, I established my first website with help of WIX. I had never known or imagined that the foundation of a website could be this simple since the digital technology had provided us with such convenience. I only need to click some buttons and select some options, and then a fantastic website is generated automatically. As a result, digital media culture has gone deep into our lives. I believe there is much convenience and surprise from digital media culture that I have not experienced yet. For the following half semester, I decide to improve my website in some aspects. To be honest, there are still some functions about WIX that I am not clear about, and I am not very satisfied with the design of my pages though. I will take more efforts to work in my website to make it look better and more convenient for all visitors.
